We’re all in this together

Volunteer, and help us run the Queens Marathon. We can’t do it alone, and each year countless community member volunteer their time to make our race day a success! Prep the course, setup, course marshal, hand out water, or cheer. We need you!

Celebrating and highlighting the most diverse county in the United States, Queens, the Queens Marathon has grown since its 1st running back in 2016. Since 2024, the Queens Marathon, QDR Half Marathon & 10K are held in both the Spring & Fall at the crown jewel park of Queens, Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

For Fall 2025, with the news that the Queens Distance Runners will pledge to donate to EVERY third grade student with an NYC Kids Rise college account through the Queens Marathon Weekend, there will be a 5K and 10K held on Saturday, December 6th leading to the Queens Marathon and QDR Half Marathon Expo, followed by the Queens Marathon & QDR Half Marathon on Sunday, December 7.

The Queens Marathon is organized by the Queens Distance Runners (QDR), a community-oriented running club comprised of members from all over Queens, from Astoria to the Rockaways. In addition to organizing and producing the Queens Marathon and QDR Half Marathon, the Queens Distance Runners organize additional annual race events ranging in distance from Track Meets through to the marathon.

Organized annually every Spring and Fall, the Queens Marathon is a looped course that we fully use to our advantage to create an atmosphere where the runner and the spectator work together. Friends of Queens Distance, dozens of the New York City area running clubs, and the general public take a patch of the course and support participants throughout the event. Runners have come around to the idea of our looped course, as they bond with the crowd and volunteers, who in turn remember the personality and determination of each runner.

While it is our goal to bring a full Queens Marathon to the streets, it is our immediate goal to focus on connecting our runners with our local civic associations, non-profit partners, and cultural institutions that endlessly work to develop our communities. Bringing the race to life was the first step, and before we bring the runners through our diverse and inclusive neighborhoods one day, it will be our collective mission to celebrate Queens at every turn in Flushing Meadows Corona Park!
